Stewardship
There are a variety of organizations and causes that command our attention and request our money. People often wonder how giving to the church is any different than their donation to a non-profit service organization. The difference is that stewardship is a life long celebration of God’s abundance in our lives and our commitment to share that abundance with the church and our community.
God has blessed each of us with unique personal gifts and as stewards it is our responsibility to nurture those gifts for God’s glory. We are called to discern, accept and live out joyfully our commitments, responsibilities and roles to which God calls us.You and I, as individual Christians, and together as the congregation of First Presbyterian Church are a way the world sees, witness, and experiences God’s blessings in this world.
Our church is a special place. It is a place of care and compassion, as well as a place where people, from the very young to the very old, truly experience God in their lives. We carry with us in our hearts the words from Paul’s letter to the church in Corinth that “faith, hope and love” do abide, in our church and in the world. Therefore, out of our deep sense of commitment to God and our church:We respond in Faith…
Trusting that God will act to accomplish something through, with or among us—something wonderful and powerful that we cannot accomplish on our own.
We respond with Hope…
Believing that future blessings are coming from God and that God is always with us.
We respond out of Love…
The greatest of these is the love we have for God and each other in this congregation, a love that leads us to reach out and love others.
That is why we presume to ask one another to give generously and sacrificially. Prior to contrary belief, there are no dues for members of the church. We simply have the responsibility to respond out of faith, hope and love.

According to your gifts, and as you are called by God to use them, please fill out the “Time, Gifts and Promises” page as well as the “Financial Promise” form. We will be collecting these during worship service.
